A Country Life Experience

The area surround the larger Perth area provide enviable country life for the residents and the visitors. The decision to move away from the secured Perth accommodation facilities and venture into the country is not regrettable. The country life offers unpolluted natural atmosphere that you will never find in any city. The air is fresh with great natural fragrances from the blossoming wild flowers, the streams are crystal clear with untainted natural water flowing unperturbed, the skies are clear blue and the wind whirls past your ears with an attractive whistle. Many people have never experienced this kind of ambiance that the human activity in the cities denies them.

In the country side life the most convenient mode of transport is by your favorite horse. The horses can move anywhere no matter the terrains; rocks, valleys and hills. Their constant passage does not affect the environment for nature replaces the beaten paths naturally. The serenity in the country side is overwhelming and the urge to pitch a tent is hard to resist. At night the stars and the moon glare at you peacefully while animals and birds cry, roar and sing in a distance. A day in the country side is not complete without a night in a camp.

However, security must be checked before pitching a camp in the wildness.

The first step before venturing into the country side is at the horse sales houses. In the larger Perth area there are numerous places where you can buy your horse. Care should be taken to buy the right horse for horses vary in prices and use. The price of the horse will be affected by age, breeding, health status and defects, reason for sale and the riding experience. The horse you opt for should not be the top notch breeds for racing but those that can survive in the country side; grazing and carrying luggage through the difficult terrain.

If you have no idea about horses you should get assistance from your tour guide or any other person in your group. You should also define what you will do with the horse after the country side experience; take it home or re-sell it at the same place you bought it. The other crucial issue you should not forget is carrying some food supplements for the horse to supplement the grass. Grooming the horse with the necessary items such as the horse shoes paddles and others must be remembered so that the horse does not get injured on the excursion. When haggling for the horses price remember to inquire whether it is inclusive of the riding requirements lest you are left with a horse that you cannot ride.

Acquiring the right attire for yourself should not be forgotten as you endeavor to venture into the country side. Tweed shooting jackets, cowboy boots, hunting rifles, cooking utensils, cell phones, first aids kits, camping tents, sleeping bags, food, water, lighters, knives, blankets and spotlight should not be left behind if you are planning for night camping.

A shooting jacket that is waterproof is exceptionally warm and can assist you in reducing the luggage you carry since it can serve as a source of warmth at night. Once you arrive at the camping site you should locate the place you will pitch your tents and if possible do it early. The pitching of the tents is important to avoid rushing against sunset later. After the accommodation is set then you can commence on your country side adventure.

You can mount on your horses and explore the extensive country side without worrying about where you will sleep. In the wildness you can engage on many activities such as fishing, hunting, exploration, bird watching and many others.

However, care should be taken to against places that are risky to avoid injuries or confrontation with the indigenous inhabitants. Any places that are marked restricted or prohibited should be avoided. The security and safety of the party members must also be maintained for these are prime places for crimes due to the remoteness.

As the dusk approaches everyone should head to the campsite to avoid getting lost on the way. At the campsite the members can start preparing for dinner sitting on the coir mats. The mats must be kept in safe distance from the fire for they are made from dry coconut husks that are very inflammable. The dinner maybe food brought from Perth or some game meat if lucky to have hunted any. The excitement in the dinner preparation is cooking in the open firewood fire rather than using the ordinary cooking stoves.

Care should be taken to manage the fire after cooking; if it’s to be a bonfire that lights till morning people should take turns to watch it. But the best option is just put it off to avoid attracting attention or lighting the whole area; campsite fires are the most common source of the burning of the flora and fauna in the country side.

If the area is very remote with wild animals, the group should ensure that the members are safe from attacks at night. Also, you should have emergency numbers with you to call for help in case anything happens such as attacks by animals or thugs, insect and reptile bites or any other accident.

Hoping nothing happens during the night, the members should have an early morning to enjoy the rising of the sun and the morning watch for animals as they enjoy their morning meals especially the grass eating ones or the herbivorous. Also, the singing of the birds in the morning should not be missed.

If there is some remaining food from dinner it can be prepared with another open fire or eaten cold depending on the choice of the people. To add flavor to the breakfast the grounded wild bird seed mixture can be added to the food. After everyone is through with the meals then off you go to enjoy another country side day.
